Savannah Chrisley may have met her matches at The View‘s Hot Topics Table.

On Wednesday, moderator Whoopi Goldberg kicked off a conversation about Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s recent appearance at the Munich Security Conference, where she struggled to formulate an answer to whether or not she thought that U.S. troops should defend Taiwan if China were to attack.

Critics were quick to call out the moment, among whom were President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who were featured in clips shown by The View slamming Ocasio-Cortez’s performance.

“May I present to you, the gaffer in chiefs,” Joy Behar teased ahead of a montage of some of Trump’s speech flubs, including at the

Behar quipped afterwards, “My mother used to say, ‘Don’t spit up in the air. It comes back in your face.’ Check him out before you ask attacking AOC, who by the way—it sounded a little hamana hamana hamana, but compared to him, it’s like Mensa.”

Chrisley, who was filling in as a guest host for Alyssa Farah Griffin amid her maternity leave, took to Trump’s defense.

“Well I think mispronouncing a word is totally different than not knowing your position on Taiwan, and what’s important is how you recover from something,” she explained. “Trump, he has done things, he has continued on with his speech, and then continued on to meet with world leaders. So the recovery is what mattered, and AOC just didn’t have a recovery.”

While Behar insisted that Trump “does it over and over again,” Goldberg pointed out that Trump “is the president.”

“And he’s been the president before,” Goldberg added.

Behar teased, “For 25 years it seems.”

Goldberg continued, “So my point is I can take hamana hamana from congresspeople and stuff. If you don’t have yourself together, that’s on you. I can’t take it from the guy who says he’s the leader of the free world.”

Chrisley replied, “I understand that wholeheartedly. AOC though is the Democrats’ pick for the next election.”

The rest of the hosts were quick to shut Chrisley’s claim down.

Behar quipped, “You better tell that to Gavin Newsom!”

Chrisley added, “Well, between the two of them.”

Sunny Hostin insisted that Ocasio-Cortez “has made it pretty clear that she’s not running for president,” though noted that she was “happy actually to see people in Congress doing something.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
