Is the ‘Anaconda’ 2025 movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

If you’re looking for laughs this holiday season, go ahead and take your family to the movie theater to see the 2025 Anaconda movie, which is a meta reboot of the 1997 action flick Anaconda.

What is a “meta” reboot, you ask? Basically, the characters in this new movie—childhood best friends played by Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton—are aware of the 1997 film Anaconda, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube. In fact, they love the 1997 Anaconda movie so much, that they decide to travel to the Amazon rain forest to film an amateur remake of the movie, in an attempt to recapture their youth. Of course, they get a little more than they bargained for when the really do come face to face with a giant, venomous anaconda. And this anaconda doesn’t care if you have buns or not.

Also starring Daniela Melchior and Selton Mello, the 2025 Anaconda movie was directed by Tom Gormican, with a screenplay written by Gormican and Kevin Ettan. It sounds like a adventure filled-comedy similar to the Jumanji remake, and will no doubt be a hoot to watch in theaters. Where to watch the 2025 Anaconda movie:

Anaconda 2025 will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. nationwide on Thursday, December 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Anaconda 2025 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the Anaconda 2025 movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

Anaconda 2025 is not currently streaming on Netflix or Amazon, because the movie is being released in theaters, only. Right now, the only way to watch Anaconda 2025 is in a movie theater. That said, because Anaconda 2025 is a Sony movie, we do expect to see it streaming on Netflix eventually.

You will be able to purchase Anaconda 2025 on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Anaconda 2025 on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch the Anaconda 2025 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Netflix.

When will the new Anaconda 2025 movie be streaming on Netflix?

Anaconda 2025 will likely be on Netflix sometime in the spring of 2026. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. One recent Sony movie, Caught Stealing, came to Netflix about three months after opening in theaters. 

If Anaconda 2025 follows this same release pattern, you can expect Anaconda 2025 to stream on Netflix around late March 2026, aka three months after the movie opened in theaters. That said, other Sony movies have taken four months to stream on Netflix, so you may have to wait until late April 2026. In the meantime, you can go watch the new Anaconda movie in theaters, and you can watch the original 1997 Anaconda movie on Netflix.
