Bank robber hits two Long Island banks in 48 hours, using stick-up note: cops

A Long Island bank robber hit two Flagstar locations just 5 miles apart — in a 48-hour spree where he used a stickup note to scare tellers into handing over cash, cops said.

The thief — described as a bald man sporting a beard and a dark-colored jacket — first struck on Monday and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash and hopped into a car outside, cops said.

Just two days later, a man matching the same exact description walked into another Flagstar in North Babylon and pulled the same stunt — handing the teller another robbery note before walking out with the stolen money and escaping on foot, cops said. 

Detectives told The Post they believe the thief in both robberies are the same person and the investigation is ongoing. 

Officials have not released any further information on the alleged thief or regarding the amount of money stolen in the string of robberies.

Representatives from Flagstar Bank did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
