When dining near a dog, you usually face pleading eyes and hopeful paws—but one rescue pup has gone viral for flipping the script.

A September 22 TikTok clip, shared to an account dedicated to 26-year-old Liv and her dog Remmy (@livandremmy), has already racked up more than 217,000 views in less than 24 hours. The footage shows Remmy, a small black dog, sitting calmly on the couch beside her owner, who is sipping a large cup of tea. When Liv offers her a biscuit, Remmy doesn’t snatch it up. Instead, she sniffs it, then gives a subtle nod—clearly signaling that she wants it dunked in the tea first.

Obliging her pup’s request, Liv dips the biscuit in the hot drink and offers it again. This time, to viewers’ delight, Remmy happily accepts her treat.

The clip, captioned “Well if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions,” has earned over 15,000 likes and dozens of amused comments.

“I have nothing but respect for her. God forbid a girl knows what she wants,” one user posted.

Another wrote: “She’s not wrong, a dunked biscuit is superior to everything.”

A third simply said: “She is a princess.”

Remmy’s royal treatment marks quite the turnaround for the pup, who was found abandoned in a car park before being rescued by Liv from London. Now, she lives a life of love and pampering—typical of a generation known for doting on their pets.

Research shows Gen Z pet owners aren’t shy about spending on their furry companions. A 2024 survey of 1,000 cat and 1,000 dog owners by Talker Research for the insurance company Lemonade found that Gen Zers spend an average of $178 a month on their pets—outspending millennials ($146), Gen X ($115) and baby boomers ($90). Another report from Best Ontario Casino Sites found that 62 percent of Gen Zers in the U.S. and Canada would rather raise a pet than start a family.

While the video has charmed viewers, experts remind owners that canines generally shouldn’t eat human biscuits. Dog food company Butternut Box notes that these snacks often contain added sugars, artificial flavors and other additives that can upset a pup’s stomach or lead to long-term health issues. Biscuits are typically high in fat and salt, which can contribute to obesity and other complications. Pets also shouldn’t drink tea or coffee due to caffeine, though a tiny accidental sip is unlikely to cause serious harm.
