AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Council on Family Violence, or TCFV, released a report that names the 161 Texans died from intimate partner violence in 2024. It also states that 104 children lost a parent from that violence.
TCFV’s report, titled “Honoring Texas Victims,” was unveiled at a town hall-style event in Austin on Friday. It is, according to TCFV, the state’s only report on intimate partner violence.
“We pause each year to reflect on the victims of intimate partner violence homicides and honor those whose lives were ended at the hands of their partners,” the report states. “Their lives reflect the diversity and richness of Texas … Each of their deaths represents an incalculable loss to their loved ones and communities.”
Across KXAN’s coverage area, the report names eight murder victims in Bastrop, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties:
- Gustavo Gonzalez Nunez, 42, of Dale, Texas, who was shot and killed by his girlfriend who then killed herself.
- Patsy Barrera, 38, of Kyle, Texas. Her husband is currently held in the Hays County Jail and is charged with murder and continuous sexual abuse of a child.
- Naomi Riley Davis, 19, of Austin. The report alleges she was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, who is currently held at the Travis County Jail. Austin police said that her death was the city’s first murder of 2024.
- Maryuri Leticia Reconco-Moncada, 30, of Austin. APD charged her husband with murder, and his case is scheduled for trial on Oct. 13.
- Iris Hernandez-Perdomo, 33, of Austin. KXAN previously reported APD said that her husband stabbed her before killing himself on July 3, 2024.
- Francis Kaina Anseume Corredor, 27, of Austin. APD charged her husband with capital murder of multiple persons and injury to a minor, and he awaits trial at the Travis County Jail.
- Bryan Florentino Flores Alvarez, 19, of Austin, was killed during the same incident as Anseume Corredor.
- Suzanne Francoise Bailey, 58, of Austin. KXAN previously reported APD said that her husband killed her before killing himself.
- Jennifer Diaz, 42, of Cedar Park, Texas. The report states that her boyfriend shot and killed her before killing himself.
In its previous report, TCFV said that 205 Texans were killed in 2023 by an intimate partner.

According to additional data from TCFV, 137 of the victims were women and 24 were men. Four of those victims were LGBTQ+ people. During all of the incidents, 17 other people — such as friends, family and bystanders — were also killed.
“Regardless of gender, more Texas domestic violence victims were killed by an abusive partner with a firearm than all other means combined,” TCFV’s report said. A gun was used in 71% of the deaths.
The report contains another chilling data point: 75% of victims tried to get help from “friends, family, advocates, or law enforcement.”
