Released WWE talent free to wrestle elsewhere

A recently released WWE star can officially continue her professional wrestling career in other promotions. Back in October, Lady Leigh, known to “Evolve” and “LFG” fans as Jin Tala, was released from her WWE contract. Leigh has informed fans on social media that she is now free to perform again.

“Starting tomorrow I get to wrestle again,” Leigh wrote on X.

Leigh wasn’t the only one who was let go from the company. Perhaps the most surprising name on the cut list was Wes Lee, a former NXT North American Champion. Other names included Lance Anoa’i, who is the cousin of top WWE star Roman Reigns, Stevie Turner, Drako Knox, BJ Ray, Summer Sorrell, Haze Jameson, and Jamar Hampton.

Lady Leigh’s WWE Run as Jin Tala

Leigh gained popularity through the “WWE LFG” show. Many were hoping she could develop and thrive under WWE’s system. She performed in several matches at untelevised “WWE NXT” live events and was featured on “Evolve.”

Leigh had a strong start under the “Evolve” brand, winning her first three matches. Her first loss was a failed attempt to capture the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship from Kali Armstrong on July 18. Leigh’s last WWE TV appearance was during the Sept. 26 episode of “Evolve,” where she was beaten by Masyn Holiday.

In Leigh’s most recent untelevised match with WWE, she faced Tyra Mae Steele on Oct. 4. She was defeated by Steele inside the MLK Center in Gainesville. Shortly after her release, Leigh told fans that she would continue her wrestling journey.
