Rams’ Davante Adams receives cryptic injury update before Seahawks showdown

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams has been dealing with a hamstring injury for quite some time now, and this past Sunday, it significantly worsened and Adams was forced to leave his team’s win over the Detroit Lions.

The injury certainly did not look good, as Adams’ legs gave out while running a route and he crumpled to the ground.

But somehow, the Rams have not completely ruled him out for their Thursday night showdown with the Seattle Seahawks, and Ian Rapoport provided a cryptic update on the star pass-catcher on Wednesday morning.

“Davante Adams, I would say, is up in the air to be able to play on Thursday,” Rapoport said. “… That said, they are not ruling him out, and I think there is a possibility he is out there in some form or fashion. Maybe just red zone, something like that just to get him on the road. But overall, it does not seem like we are going to have the Davante Adams he has always been.”

Clearly, it does not seem like Adams is close to 100 percent, so even if he does take the field against the Seahawks, it’s hard to imagine he’ll be that effective.

Adams’ injury is an absolutely crushing blow to Los Angeles with the playoffs right around the corner. The 32-year-old has caught 60 passes for 789 yards while leading the NFL with 14 touchdowns this season.

Adams and Puka Nacua have combined to form what may very well be the NFL’s best wide receiver tandem in 2025, and the two receivers have helped quarterback Matthew Stafford put together an MVP-caliber campaign.

The Rams signed Adams after he was cut by the New York Jets last March.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles is 11-3 and is tied with Seattle for first place in the NFC West. With a win over the Seahawks on Thursday night, the Rams would complete the season sweep and own the tiebreaker.
