Prince William and Kate Middleton are standing by King Charles III

After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, was arrested in the UK Feb. 19 on allegations of misconduct in public office, E! News understands the Prince and Princess of Wales fully support Charles’ statement.

Charles spoke out on the arrest of Andrew—who has faced ongoing scrutiny of his alleged ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein—hours after his brother was taken into custody.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” Charles said in a statement. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”

Charles reiterated his and Queen Camilla’s prior statements regarding his brother, noting that he and his family give their “full and wholehearted support and cooperation” to the authorities.

“As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter,” the 77-year-old continued. “Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
