Police investigating fatal motorcycle crash in northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in northeast Austin early Thursday.

According to APD, the call for the crash came in around 2:10 a.m. near the 1900 block of East Braker Lane, which is just east of the East Braker Lane and Pioneer Farms Drive intersection.

Police said the motorcyclist struck a pole in the area, and a witness attempted to provide medical aid; however, the motorcyclist died at the scene. The identity of the person has not yet been released.

KXAN photojournalist Todd Bailey said that at 4 a.m., the medical examiner was at the scene.
