Phillies Activate All-Star, Shake Up Roster With Postseas…

The Philadelphia Phillies are the 2025 National League East champions, as they clinched the division over the New York Mets. The Phillies have been hot in the second half, while the Mets have collapsed beyond belief.

Philadelphia is 8-2 in its last 10 games heading into the weekend, while the Mets are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

The Phillies have been so hot that they’re in line to earn a first-round bye in the postseason. Some speculate that the bye isn’t necessarily a great thing, but skipping an entire series is invaluable in the postseason.

To make matters better, the Phillies recently received an All-Star reinforcement at the perfect time.

Ahead of the Phillies’ weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, they announced that All-Star infielder Alec Bohm was being activated from the injured list. To make room on the 28-man roster, Rafael Lantigua was optioned to Triple-A.

Lantigua hadn’t appeared in a game for the Phillies yet, so replacing him on the roster with a player like Bohm is huge for the World Series push.

Bohm, 29, is hitting .272 with nine home runs and 51 RBIs across 111 games this year. He’s also tied his career high with three triples this year.

While Bohm isn’t a slugger like Kyle Schwarber or Bryce Harper, he’s certainly an upgrade in the lineup.

This is the kind of addition to the lineup that takes the Phillies from a very good team to a powerhouse. With Schwarber hitting as well as he is, it was going to be hard enough to pitch to the Phillies. Adding Bohm back to the lineup at the perfect time is nightmare fuel for the NL.
