Passenger pays $13,980 for first-class flight—take a look inside

A video showing what it’s like to fly in Singapore Airlines’ A380 first class suites after paying nearly $14,000 for a single ticket has gone viral on YouTube.

The video was posted by Antoine, who goes by @Loungeguru on YouTube. Antoine, a Canadian content creator currently based in Dubai, told Newsweek: “I work professionally in marketing, and I manage my travel content as a dedicated side-project.”

Text overlaid on the clip reads: “$13,980 Singapore A380 First Class Suites.” The video, which has amassed more than 10.1 million views since it was posted on January 7, offers a glimpse inside the ultra‑luxury suite, which Antoine experienced during a flight in mid‑2025.

Antoine told Newsweek that he paid for the ticket entirely out of pocket. “I booked this seat fully in cash. No miles or loyalty points were used. It was, without a doubt, the most expensive ticket I have ever purchased,” he said, noting: “The price you pay for these tickets is approximately $13,000…this is a standard retail fare for this cabin.”

While Antoine preferred not to disclose the specific route of the flight, he confirmed that it was one where the airline’s full suite service was available.

For Antoine, the most striking aspect of the experience was the amount of space inside the suite. “The sheer volume of personal space,” stood out, he told Newsweek. “The suite is thoughtfully and meticulously designed to feel like a private residence. It is so spacious that you can comfortably walk around, do push-ups, or even play VR without feeling restricted. It’s a masterclass in aviation engineering.”

He also highlighted the sleeping setup and service onboard. “The bed was incredibly comfortable, like it’s a true bed with luxury bedding and comfy pillows and duvet, not just a reclining seat,” Antoine said. “However, the no. 1 highlight was the crew. Their attention to detail was out of this world. They manage to be incredibly attentive and friendly while remaining completely unobtrusive, which is the hallmark of true luxury.”

The caption accompanying the video describes the flight as “the pinnacle of First Class aviation.” Antoine wrote that it was his first time flying Singapore Airlines’ A380 First Class Suites and that the experience immediately “set a new global benchmark for luxury air travel.” He added that from the moment he stepped onboard, the atmosphere felt “calm, intentional, and deeply personal,” with crew members consistently nearby while remaining discreet.

According to the caption, requests were anticipated rather than reacted to. Antoine noted that when he asked for a smoothie, it arrived almost immediately. Champagne service included Cristal, which he said is priced at over $400 per bottle, and was poured generously. He described the suite as feeling like “a private hotel room in the sky,” complete with a fully separate bed, a dedicated reclining chair, extensive storage, and exceptional privacy.

The caption also emphasized the level of personalization onboard. Instead of simply handing over a menu, Antoine said the crew walked him through every option, dish by dish, helping curate his dinner experience. He was also gifted a luxury skincare amenity kit and visited the airline’s onboard bathroom, which he described as feeling like “a five-star spa at 38,000 feet.” The video focuses on the suite and service, with food and dining content planned for a later installment.

Antoine did offer one small critique when speaking to Newsweek. “The caviar service, appetizers, and champagne selection were wonderful,” he said. “If I had to be critical, the main course wasn’t quite as striking or ‘visual’ as I had imagined it would be, but the overall quality was still exceptional.”

When asked whether the experience was worth the more than $13,000 price tag, Antoine said value ultimately depends on perspective. “‘Worth’ is subjective, but for an aviation enthusiast, this is easily a $10,000 experience,” he told Newsweek.

He added that compared with other top-tier first class offerings, the Singapore Airlines suite stands apart. “When you compare it to the first class products of other ‘big players’ like Emirates, or the even higher-priced Air France La Première, you realize you are paying for the pinnacle of privacy and service. For those who value a sanctuary in the sky, it delivers.”
