Man struck by car in east Austin dies days later: APD

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 35-year-old man died over the weekend, after a vehicle struck him earlier this month in east Austin, according to the Austin Police Department on Monday.

The crash happened Aug. 2 around 12:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Airport Boulevard, per a news release from APD. The driver remained on the scene after the crash and cooperated with investigators, it said.

APD identified the pedestrian as Javar R. Quinton. He was taken from the scene to a local hospital, where he died Aug. 16, according to police.

This crash is now being investigated as Austin’s 63rd fatal crash of 2025, police said.
