Lockhart pickling company takes more real estate

AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) — An expanding Lockhart-based pickling company has nabbed incentives to move into the bulk of a 62,000-square-foot industrial building that is being built by Austin-based Balcones Real Estate Group LLC.

Hill Country Foodworks LLC and Balcones on Sept. 16 were approved by the Lockhart City Council for roughly $3.2 million in incentives to aid Hill Country Foodworks in occupying roughly 48,000 square feet of the building that is currently being built at 2605 Dewitt St.

The company mainly pickles cucumbers but also other produce like peppers and okra.
