Before Timothée and Kylie became the couple of the moment, the Wonka actor and The Idol actress first set off romance rumors back in 2018—shortly after meeting on the set of The King. 

By late 2019, the couple had called their romance off, but not before cementing a digital footprint of their time together with some eyebrow-raising photos. Amid filming for the war drama, Lily-Rose and Timothée were photographed by paparazzi during a steamy yacht makeout session, and the pictures subsequently went majorly viral. 

At the time, Timothée admitted the fanfare over the photos was not ideal. 

“I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life,” the 29-year-old told GQ in 2020. “I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great,’ and then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob?”
