Navy finished in a three-way tie atop the American Conference at 7-1 but lost the tiebreaker for a bid in the conference championship game. The Midshipmen come in with two straight wins and will head to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis on Jan. 2 to take on Cincinnati. Blake Horvath keys the Navy offense, throwing for 1,390 yards and nine touchdowns while piling up 1,040 rushing yards and 14 scores. Alex Tecza ran for 772 yards and nine touchdowns as well. Eli Heidenreich was the go-to receiver with 40 catches, 805 yards, and four TDs. Landon Robinson leads the defense with 6.5 sacks.

Army finished 4-4 in the American and has a bowl date with UConn at the Fenway Bowl in Boston on Dec. 27. Quarterback Cale Hellums ran for 1,078 yards and 15 touchdowns while throwing for another 504 with three scores, including the go-ahead TD pass at UTSA on Nov. 29 that clinched bowl eligibility for the Black Knights. Brady Anderson is the big-play threat in the passing game with 350 yards on just 12 receptions. Andon Thomas comes in with 96 total tackles, with 57 of them solo stops.

Navy extended its lead in the all-time series to 63-55-7 with its 31-13 win at Landover, Maryland, last season and with each team beating Air Force earlier this season, Saturday’s matchup will also determine the winner of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which Navy won the trophy for the 17th time last season while Army has claimed it 10 times, most recently in 2023.
