Home Cam sees Mom enter attic, what follows terrifies husband and toddler

People often say that if you want something done right, you should do it yourself. That was the precise logic that Jessica Joslin had after asking her husband to sort out the attic.

Unfortunately, doing it herself didn’t quite go to plan—and the disastrous outcome was all caught on the home security camera.

Jessica, 27, of Nashville, Tennessee, had initially asked her husband Ken Joslin, 28, to help organize the attic, as she planned to do a post-Christmas tidy. However, Jessica grew increasingly impatient, as she told Newsweek that she waited “around 20 to 30 minutes” before deciding to just do it herself.

What could possibly go wrong?

“I got stuck when I took a step, I missed the plywood and fell through the ceiling,” Jessica said. “My right leg was dangling, and the left leg was behind me as though doing a split position.”

She immediately called for help, but as it turned out, Ken was already alerted to the chaos that was unfolding because he’d heard the debris falling from above. He quickly ran to her aid and helped her down safely.

“About an hour or so after it happened, it randomly hit me that we have a camera and I could see the footage of that moment,” Jessica continued.

She couldn’t resist sharing the footage on TikTok (@jessicanicolejoslin) and it instantly went viral. In just a matter of days, the video has generated over 12.6 million views and more than 712,200 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

The caption alongside the video reads: “When you ask your husband to do something and now it’s your problem. Wives take advice and be patient.”

Jessica told Newsweek that the incident left her with a “few bruises and soreness” for several days after. Thankfully she’s doing much better now though and didn’t sustain any long-lasting injuries.

The online reaction to the video is beyond anything Jessica imagined, as she never expected so many people to see the events of her chaotic decision unfold. Nonetheless, she’s loved hearing from all the social media users who reached out, and as it turns out, so many of them can relate.

“It’s been good to read the funny comments, and it’s so funny hearing the men defend the men, and the women defend each other online,” Jessica said. “Husbands please do what we ask when we ask, and as for the wives, we need to learn more patience.”

After the camera footage of that regretful moment went viral, many took to the comments to find out what happened and share their reactions. This has led to more than 3,700 comments on the TikTok posts so far.

One comment reads: “The ‘Jessica’ makes me LAUGH every time.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “The baby siren sent me.”

While one person replied: “the way he yelled Jessica like he just knew she was in trouble.”
