Hays County issues burn ban, effective immediately

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra issued a burn ban prohibiting all outdoor burning activities due to ongoing dry conditions and increased wildfire risks, the judge said in a Tuesday notice.

The ban will be in effect until Nov. 18, and according to the release, prohibited burning includes brush piles, burn barrels and campfires.

The county asked residents and visitors to comply with the ban to help protect lives, property and natural resources.
