Driver remained on scene after killing pedestrian: APD

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A driver who struck and killed a man on May 25 was not impaired and remained on scene following the collision, according to an Austin Police Department press release.

APD officers arrived on the scene in the 11000 block of Research Blvd. around 10:28 p.m. on May 25, the department said. They found a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, APD said.

The driver was “cooperating with the investigation,” the release states. Neither the driver or victim have been identified by APD yet.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about it can call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111 or anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at 512-472-8477.

The crash is Austin’s 37th fatal crash, and the 41st death from a crash.
