Domain Northside to unveil immersive art installation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Domain shopping center is getting ready to unveil a new art piece that’s sure to catch the eye of any shopper who happens upon it.
The Eyes, an installation by art collective “Cool Sh*t,” is an inflatable head towering at 26 feet tall – and it’s covered in “ever-present, ever-watching eyes,” according to a press release by the Domain Northside.
The Eyes will be located at The Lawn at Domain Northside, and it serves as both an art piece and a social commentary, per the release.
“Over the last two decades, attention and ability to focus have dwindled while being consumed with an increasing barrage of available information and communication technology that craves gaze and attention,” the release said.
The Domain Northside said The Eyes is the shopping center’s contribution to “the ever-expanding Austin art scene and a celebration of the uniqueness of artists worldwide.”
If you want to catch a glimpse of The Eyes, be sure to visit the Domain Northside some time between May 6 and May 18.
