Dodgers Predicted to Land $500 Million Superstar With 10-…

The Los Angeles Dodgers earned a win against the division rival Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday as they look to hold off the San Diego Padres and maintain a top playoff position.

The team has struggled to perform as the kind of juggernaut fans were hoping for as it experiences struggles from the bullpen despite some significant offseason additions. And whether or not the Dodgers are able to overcome those struggles and win a repeat World Series championship, some more blockbuster free agent signings are likely ahead.

After consecutive winters that brought in the likes of Shohei Ohtani and Blake Snell, the Dodgers are expected to compete for the best player on the market this winter, superstar Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker. And Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley predicted they would ultimately win him with a 10-year contract in the $500 million range.

“A $500 million payday might be doable, and that feels true regardless if he runs it back with the Cubs or finds his way out of the Windy City,” Buckley wrote. “Expect a strong bid, but expect an even bigger bid from a club with a longer track record of shelling out huge money for top free agents. Prediction: Tucker signs a 10-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.”

Tucker has been anticipated as the clear leader in the free agent market ever since Vladimir Guerrero Jr. signed an extension with the Toronto Blue Jays at the start of the season. Though he opened the year in All-Star form, Tucker regressed in the second half and has been sidelined with a calf injury.

But at just 28 years old, Tucker will still earn a major long-term investment from one team or another. It seems like the Dodgers will be in the hunt regardless of how the rest of their season plays out. But the final price tag for Tucker’s next contract could grow considerably if he returns to the Cubs and leads a deep postseason charge.
