Dodgers All-Star Pitcher provides trade update amid rumors

On Thursday, ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez reported that the Dodgers are not opposed to trading Tyler Glasnow if they have the chance to add a better star to their team, specifically naming Tarik Skubal.

However, during an appearance on “Sunday Sliders” for MLB Network Radio, Glasnow told Dani Wexelman that Andrew Friedman has told him he is not going to be traded. Glasnow was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays before the 2024 season and signed a five-year, $136 million extension with the Dodgers.

Glasnow has dealt with injuries during his time with the Dodgers, but when he is on the mound, he is a great pitcher. He was an All-Star in 2024 and posted a 3.19 ERA in 18 starts last season. He was also a key player during the Dodgers’ World Series run.

During the postseason, Glasnow pitched in six games, posting a 1.69 ERA. He made three starts in October and figures to be a major part of the Dodgers’ quest to three-peat. The Dodgers have a star-studded rotation, and with Glasnow revealing the Dodgers are not planning on dealing him, it figures to stay intact.

The Dodgers will likely field a rotation of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Shohei Ohtani, Glasnow and Rōki Sasaki. Sasaki pitched out of the bullpen last postseason, but with Clayton Kershaw retiring and the Dodgers signing Edwin Díaz, Sasaki figures to start the season in the rotation again.
