Deadly crash shuts down I-35 northbound near Parmer Ln

AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes of I-35 northbound near the Parmer Lane exit are closed Thursday morning after a deadly crash. According to the Austin Police Department, around 2:16 a.m. an 18-wheeler and small vehicle collided on the main lanes of I-35.

APD says one person died, but it did not have specifics on who that person was. APD says traffic is being diverted at the Tech Ridge Boulevard exit. It says that the road is likely to remain closed for hours.

It is unclear at this time what caused the crash.
