Bills expected to target one important area to help Josh Allen

In what seems like a year that the Buffalo Bills would be the favorites in the AFC, they haven’t played great football over the past two weeks.

The Bills now sit at 4-2 and have some questions to answer heading into the trade deadline. While struggles are never wanted around the NFL, if a team like the Bills were to struggle, it’s better to do so before the trade deadline than after. 

This gives the front office a clear view of what they need to change, and one thing remains evident.

With a team that has Josh Allen under center, not having competent weapons around him is never a good idea. 

Unfortunately for the Bills, that’s been said far too often over the past few seasons. 

James Cook is a great running back and certainly helps open up the passing game, and while the Bills have a decent tight end room and some average pass catchers, there isn’t one wide receiver on the roster who scares teams. 

According to CBS Sports, it sounds like that could change. 

“An interesting team to watch is Buffalo. The Bills have been up and down the last few weeks, but GM Brandon Beane has made deals in each of the past two offseasons. He sent out for Rasul Douglas in 2023 and got Amari Cooper last fall. Some believe he could go after a receiver again,” Jonathan Jones wrote.

As long as the Bills understand that they need to go out and get a wide receiver, that’s half the battle. However, it’d be a better idea to try to find someone more talented than Amari Cooper was in 2024, as he was largely a disappointment after being traded to Buffalo from the Cleveland Browns.

The Bills have draft capital to move, too, so there’s really no excuse not to get something done.
