Artists First Signs ‘Alice In Borderland’s Kento Kaku

EXCLUSIVE: Artists First has signed Tokyo-based actor and producer Kento Kaku for management.

Most recently recently be seen in Season 3 of Alice in Borderland, Netflix’s thriller series based on the manga of the same name by Haro Aso, Kaku prior to that produced and starred in Netflix’s House of Ninjas, which led to his partnership with director Dave Boyle and the creation of their shared production company, Signal 181. Boyle is the writer-director behind his forthcoming spiritual horror film Never After Dark, where he’s producer and star, which is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival.

Long a household name in Japan, Kaku cemented his star status after being selected for the lead role in the TV adaptation of the beloved manga From Today, It’s My Turn. He subsequently starred in a film adaptation of From Today, which grabbed the number one spot at the domestic box office in 2020, and can also be seen in Prime Video’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza, based on the Like a Dragon video game series.

In addition to his work on both the large and small screen, Kaku has appeared in Japanese stage adaptations of Young Frankenstein and the musical Rent, among other titles.
