APD seeks public help finding suspect connected to April 2 robbery

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is seeking public help to find a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that happened earlier this month in southeast Austin.
Shortly before 3 a.m. on April 2, APD said a suspect “aggressively attacked the victim, knocked her to the ground, and hit her several times before he stole her property” in the 3100 block of East Highway 71 service road eastbound.
APD described the suspect as a Black man, who is approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt, black “durag,” black pants, one yellow construction glove, a red and black knit cap and red athletic shoes, according to police.
