Anna Wintour plans to step down as the editor in chief of Vogue after 37 years.

Wintour will remain as chief content officer for parent Conde Nast, as well as global editorial director at Vogue, according to WWD, which reported that she informed staff members of her plans on Thursday.

Wintour has been a cultural and fashion icon at the helm of the publication, as she has also held the annual Met Gala.
