Amal Clooney Added a Surprising Bridal Accessory to Her Lake Como Look

She’s done it again, folks. Amal Clooney’s fluttery, fuchsia dress, worn on August 8, is the third showstopping look she’s been photographed in since she and husband George Clooney (maybe you’ve heard of him) returned to their home in Lake Como, Italy, for the summer.

This dress is reminiscent of some of the hyper-feminine, floaty styles popular in the aughts. Like, you could imagine Lindsay Lohan wearing something like this on the red carpet while promoting Mean Girls, in the best way possible. It’s a one-shoulder midi-dress with a drapey neckline in both the front and back, with an asymmetrical hemline and, the pièce de résistance, a side slit reaching nearly to her hip bone, embellished with a tiny rosette.

To complement the bright pink of the dress, Clooney wore gold accessories, including metallic high-heel sandals and pearl drop earrings. In her hand, the human rights lawyer carried a gold clutch purse, as well as a small bouquet of bright flowers that matched the color of her dress.

The week prior, Clooney was seen wearing two dresses (which you can see here in Vogue) in shades of white with fringe embellishments. The first, a sequined Badgley Mischka, featured a one-shoulder neckline and fringe wrapped around the bodice and hem. The second dress was a pure white, off-the-shoulder frock with tasseled fringe throughout.

Since arriving in Lake Como, George and Amal Clooney have been welcoming guests for a multiday fundraising event for their Clooney Foundation for Justice. Their guests are staying at the hotel Passalacqua, and activities include cocktail and garden parties, dinners, and wine tastings with the famous couple. Naturally, philanthropy and human rights advocacy will be at the forefront of discussions. The Clooneys have reportedly enjoyed dinner with friends at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and more outings are on the schedule for the coming days.
