Good or bad — Giants’ decision on Abdul Carter, Shedeur Sanders will be franchise-altering

What if the Giants, even if they do the right thing, are wrong?

What if they pass on Shedeur Sanders after he stares them in the face when their No. 3 overall pick arrives in Thursday night’s NFL draft?

And what if Sanders ends up flourishing into a bona fide franchise NFL quarterback for somebody else?

More often than not, when a team has a pick as high as No. 3, the decision on whom to select can be relatively cut and dried. That player is almost certain to be an immediate contributor and possible future Pro Bowler — whether he fits a need or not.
