Man dead after Friday shooting in Travis County, one arrested

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 53-year-old man is dead after a Friday night shooting in the 14900 block of Chamberlain Court, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

TCSO said deputies responded to the scene at 9:52 p.m. Friday after 911 callers reported shots fired and people screaming.

Deputies found the victim, Ruel Saintmark Hill, in the street with a gunshot wound. Responders began CPR at these scene. According to TCSO, the man was brought to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives worked throughout the night, gathering witness statements and securing evidence, TCSO said.

At 3:38 a.m. Saturday, detectives booked Eusebio Noa Olvera, 23, into the Travis County Jail. Olvera was charged with Murder, according to TCSO.

TCSO said its investigation is ongoing.
