Kendall Jenner’s Butter Yellow Manicure Proves the Summery Color Isn’t Going Anywhere
If there’s one thing we can count on Kendall Jenner for, it’s that she’ll always be at the forefront of style and beauty trends. In store for us now is the always effortless cool girl’s butter yellow manicure. While butter yellow really took off in 2024, popping up everywhere from the runways to our nails (and with everyone from Selena Gomez to Simone Ashley signing on to the shade), some have been wondering if the muted pastel color is officially overplayed. According to Jenner, the answer is a resounding no.

Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is who we can credit for Jenner’s latest cutesy mani. Keeping it simple, Jenner’s butter yellow nails are short and squoval (square and slightly rounded on the corners). There’s no chrome finish or shimmery top coat—just the simplicity of a plain butter yellow manicure. (Though we do love a buttery glazed donut mani.) In the photo Ganzorigt posted to Instagram, Jenner shows off her fresh nails alongside a small bottle of her 818 Tequila. Per Allure, the exact shade is OPI Nail Lacquer in Blinded by the Ring Light.
Ganzorigt is a favorite of the Kardashian-Jenner clan: She’s also created many of Kylie Jenner’s most recent nail looks, from her ’90s-inspired deep French manicure earlier this month to her studded tips earlier this year. Khloé Kardashian also turns to Ganzorigt often for her manicures, as does pal Hailey Bieber. Bieber even also showed off a yellow manicure earlier this summer, but she opted for a more vibrant, zesty lemon drop instead of the creamy, less intense butter yellow.
The sunny color is nothing but basic: Though it manages to match with everything, it also manages to never be boring. And with butter yellow solidifying itself as a color so popular that some are even calling it a neutral (its mellow versatility has us in agreement), it’s proving itself as a great transitional shade as we head into fall. While brighter summer manicure colors will likely take a backseat in the coming weeks and months, being swapped out for classic moodier fall nail polishes, butter yellow is one of those colors that can, and will, cross seasonal boundaries. While it matches a summer picnic in July, it also matches a cozy sweater in October. So it’s no wonder Kendall Jenner is on board with the trend.
