YouTuber Mark Goldbridge To Stream Bundesliga Friday Soccer Matches In UK For 2025/26 Season

The fight for live sports rights has become a major battleground among U.S. streamers, but it hasn’t yet involved YouTube content creators.

However, that is exactly the case for Germany’s top soccer league, the Bundesliga, in the UK and Ireland, where a Manchester United fan and self-styled analyst, Mark Goldbridge, has landed rights to stream Friday night games from his YouTube channel.

That’s Football, which has 1.3 million subscribers, will stream 20 matches across the 2025/26 season, showcasing stars such as Bayern Munich hitman Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund’s rising star Job Bellingham and Bayern Leverkusen’s Patrik Shick.

Goldberg has made a name for himself in online soccer circles for his exuberant attitude during his play-by-play videos, which usually see him streaming live as Manchester United compete and delivering verdicts on every incident. His aghast reactions to United conceding goals or losing games regularly send him viral on social media.

The Bundesliga matches will also be streamed on another YouTube channel, The Overlap, which features some of English football’s biggest names such Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Ian Wright. It also gets 20 games for its 1.5 million subscribers, starting with season opener – England captain Kane’s FC Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig – on Friday.

Bundesliga International claims its strategy marks “the first-time ever a top league will grant live rights for an extensive package of matches to content creators in Europe.”

This is part of what organization calls an “innovative audience-building strategy” for its Friday games, with the matches also streaming through the Bundesliga’s own YouTube channel. Sky Sports will remain the Saturday broadcaster for the 5.30pm UK local time match and gets a comprehensive highlights package and shoulder content.

Prime Video becomes another new broadcaster, streaming all Sunday matches on a pay-per-view basis. This includes the promotion/relegation play-off games and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup next year to kick off the 2026-27 season.

A multi-year deal has been struck with BBC Sport, giving the UK pubcaster all Friday night games on the BBC iPlayer, the BBC sport website and the BBC Sport app.

“We are delighted to announce our new-look line up of great media partners as part of our multi-platform strategy in the UK and Ireland,” said Peer Naubert, CEO of Bundesliga International. “Our approach is as diverse as our supporters: by combining established broadcasters with digital platforms and content creators, we are taking a progressive step in how top-level football can be experienced.

“This multi-layered strategy allows us to connect with more audiences across the UK and Ireland, giving every supporter the chance to engage with football as it’s meant to be in the way that suits them best.”
