‘The Morning Show’ Season 4 Trailer Spotlights Shaky “Second Chances” For Now-Merged Network

The Morning Show Season 4 trailer has arrived, teasing the return of not only Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson but also one of Season 3’s main antagonists Paul Marks (Jon Hamm).

The fourth season of Apple TV+’s Emmy-winning drama series returns Sept. 17 with one episode arriving weekly through Nov. 19. Season 4 will contain 10 episodes.

“I’m a firm believer in second chances,” Witherspoon’s Jackson says at the beginning of the clip as she stares up at UBN, the new network that resulted from the merger between UBA and NBN in Season 3. “Maybe this is an opportunity to make it right.”

Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy, who proposed the merger after finding out what Hamm’s tech titan really intended to do once he bought the network, agrees.

“This is a reset, a different company, a different culture,” she says.

Season 4 will open in the spring of 2024, almost two full years after what went down in Season 3, which not only included the merger, but Bradley’s reckoning with the fact that she deleted footage of her brother Hal (Joe Tippett) participating in the January 6 2021 insurrection at the Capitol. The fourth installment will tackle new responsibilities for those in leadership at UBN — now Alex, Stella (Greta Lee) and Marion Cotillard’s Celine Dumont, the ever-expanding world of artificial intelligence and deep fakes and of course the truth and trust in journalism.

“People need to feel that UBN is gonna have it first, and they’re gonna have it right,” Karen Pittman’s Mia Jordan says to a boardroom full of suits, including Celine, who calls her statement “a nice idea” but “not sexy.”

Alex gets in a tiff with Boyd Holbrook’s provocative podcaster Brodie, but they are later seen face to face in what looks like close quarters. Bradley, meanwhile, is working on a story.

“UBA was involved in a cover up,” she says, begging Mark Duplass’ Charlie “Chip” Black to help her after looking at environmental headlines.

It also looks like newcomer Aaron Pierre’s character Miles is romantically involved with both Celine and Stella. Corey Ellison (Billy Crudup) might be coming back into the fold as well.

“You pitched UBN as a feminist utopia where women lift each other up,” Mia tells Alex. “I know what I deserve, and it’s my time now.”

“So what is that some kind of a threat?” Alex asks Mia.

Alex also gets a visit from her father (Jeremy Irons) who asks “Do you realize what you’ve done?”

Hamm’s Paul Marks encourages Alex to “dig” and “find out where the bodies are buried.”Cut to FBI agents rolling into the familiar hallways of UBN where the TMS team spends much of their time.

“The truth is incendiary,” Mia says toward the end of the trailer. “And it’s under attack.”

A flash of Bradley and Corey dancing together leads to that aforementioned close-to-kissing moment between Alex and Brodie. Alex and Bradley get into it as Nicole Beharie’s Christina Hunter sprints through the streets of New York and Corey screams.

Nestor Carbonell will return this season as Yanko Flores, and William Jackson harper, who can be seen in the trailer, rounds out the cast as new character Ben, Head of Sports at UBN.
