Anya Taylor-Joy’s next TV project will be Hello Sunshine and Apple TV+’s Lucky limited series adaptation.

Based on the book by Marissa Stapley, which was the Reese’s Book Club pick in December 2021, Lucky marks the latest collaboration between Hello Sunshine and Apple TV+ following The Morning Show, Truth Be Told, Surface and The Last Thing He Told Me.

Yes, filming began in February 2025 in Las Vegas before heading to the show’s main location, Los Angeles. The show earned a $10.683M California tax credit in December when it was still an untitled Apple Studios Series.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Lucky is co-showrun and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper (Your Friends and Neighbors) through his Tropper Ink banner and under his overall deal with Apple TV+, alongside fellow co-showrunner Cassie Pappas. Tropper created the series, which is executive produced by Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media. Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner Ladykiller. Jonathan Van Tulleken (Shōgun) will direct several episodes, including the pilot, and serve as executive producer.
