Austin's Peter Pan Mini-Golf still limping along on short leases



AUSTIN (ABJ) — Peter Pan Mini-Golf has secured another short-term lease extension at its storied location on Barton Springs Road, but it’s still aiming for more. 

The 77-year-old mini golf business is viewed by many as a linchpin of Austin’s keep-it-weird reputation.

It has been operating under piecemeal extensions since its long-term lease expired in 2024.

The iconic establishment’s latest short-term lease was signed about two weeks ago and lasts through September 2026, according to Julio Massad, who runs Peter Pan alongside his wife and heir to the family business, Margaret Dismukes Massad.
