Weidman shocked the world back in 2013 when he knocked out Anderson Silva to obtain the UFC middleweight championship. Silva was projected to win the fight by a large margin when Weidman came in with a flurry of punches, sending him to the canvas.
The pair would face off again in December of 2013, leading to Weidman winning on a checked kick that broke Silva’s leg. After a 2-0 victory, Weidman would cement his legacy in the UFC.
Silva is one of the most dominant UFC champions in the history of the organization, fighting and winning in 10 title fights during his dominant reign.
Following Silva’s MMA career, he transitioned into boxing and currently has a 3-2 record with wins over Julio Cesar de Jesus, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and Tito Ortiz. Silva most recently lost to Jake Paul in October 2022.
Weidman heads into the fight, making his professional boxing debut.

Per Most Valuable Promotions, the Silva vs Weidman bout will be a “6-round heavyweight fight contested at 205lbs in the opening bout of the Jake vs. Tank main card on Friday, November 14 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.”
Now, Silva and Weidman are set for a rematch in the boxing ring. The pair released a statement via Most Valuable Promotions.
“I am super excited to embark on another battle against Chris,” said Anderson Silva. “We have a history and on Friday, November 14th, live only on Netflix, we’re putting another stamp on our chapter together. It will be a spectacle for the fans!”
“I’m undefeated in boxing and it’s gonna stay that way on Friday, November 14, live on Netflix,” said Chris Weidman. “I’m the original spider killer.”
Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian also commented on the historic trilogy.
“This one is for Brazil…the greatest MMA fighter of all time Anderson Silva makes his return to boxing, in front of the world, against Chris Weidman, the man who ended Andersons’s record-setting championship reign,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder and CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. “Both fighters have everything to gain on Friday, November 14 as legends closing out the trilogy chapter of a contentious rivalry, meeting in the ring for the first time following their two iconic clashes in the cage. Unfinished business will finally be settled.”
The main card will now feature Paul vs. Davis, Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner vs. Leila Beaudoin, and Gary “The Last” Russell vs. Andy “Da Blade” Hiraoka.
The card will be streamed live exclusively on Netflix on Nov. 14.
