Donald Trump sending more weapons to Ukraine: What we know

President Donald Trump has said the United States will send more weapons to Ukraine, just days after Washington turned off the tap of some military aid to Kyiv.

“We’re going to send some more weapons,” Trump said on Monday during a dinner at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“We have to,” Trump added. “They have to be able to defend themselves.”

The Pentagon‘s chief spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed that the U.S. would send “additional defensive weapons” to Ukraine while ceasefire negotiations continue, but did not specify which types of equipment would be included.
