Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle, driver remains at scene

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said one person died following a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian June 6.
APD said officers responded to the 400 block of South U.S. Highway 183 shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Officers said the unidentified pedestrian died at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
“The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation,” APD said.
According to police, this incident is being investigated as Austin’s 39th fatal crash of 2025.
