EXCLUSIVE: Ryan Pinkston (Young Rock), Anissa Borrego (Ths Is Us), Arianna Davis and Taylor Dunbar round out the series regular cast of Stumble, Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof’s single-camera cheerleading comedy pilot for NBC. They join reviously cast Jenn Lyon, Taran Killam, Jarrett Austin Brown and Georgie Murphy.
Written by the Astrof siblings in their first collaboration, Stumble is a mockumentary about the ridiculously high stakes competitive world of junior college cheer.
Pinkston will play Stevie who dropped out of junior college four credits shy of graduating. Over a decade later, he re-enrolls and joins Courteney’s (Lyon) new team as a thirtysomething “senior.”
Borrego, who trained as a gymnast and cheerleader growing up, will play Krystal. A true Cheerlebrity, Krystal is the star flyer at Sammy Davis Sr. Junior college.
Davis, a professional dancer, will play Madonna, the narcoleptic tumbler who ironically provides the cheer team with energy.
Dunbar, a 2025 Juilliard graduate with dance training, will play Peaches, a kleptomaniac troublemaker with sick skills who’s given a chance by Courteney.
Liz Astrof and Jeff Astrof executive produce alongside cheerleading coach Monica Aldama, known for her appearance on the Netflix docuseries Cheer, and producer Dana Honor through her Defining Eve Productions. Jeff Blitz directs and executive produces the pilot only. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
This is Pinkston’s latest series project for NBCUniversal. He had a major recurring role on NBC’s Young Rock and recently recurred on Peacock’s Laid. He is repped by Aperture Talent Agency
Borrego, whose credits include the films Incoming (Netflix) and A Hollywood Christmas (HBO Max), is repped by Main Title Entertainment and Talent Works. Davis is repped by Rebel Creative Group, Take 3 Talent and Vainshtein Law. Dunbar is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
