LIVE: APD investigating a homicide near South Lamar Boulevard

AUSTIN (KXAN)– The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide near the 500 block of South Lamar Boulevard.

KXAN has a crew at the scene, and Nabil Remadna reports the scene is near a bus stop with one southbound lane closed near the intersection of South Lamar Boulevard and Barton Springs Road. Investigators were taking photos on a bus with crime scene tape around it.

Police will hold a media briefing at 9:30 p.m., according to APD.

KXAN tracks homicide data in Austin. Before this one, APD had investigated 24 homicides in the city.
