However, his castmates weren’t the only ones keeping Eric’s daughters in their hearts. Before his death, the Countdown star—who was open about his ALS journey since his diagnosis in April 2025—recorded a final message to his kids.

“Billie and Georgia, these words are for you: I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried,” Eric said while fighting back tears in Netflix’s Famous Last Words, which premiered Feb. 20. “Overall, we had a blast, didn’t we? I hope you won’t just listen to me, I hope you’ll hear me. First, live now, right now in the present. It’s hard, but I learned to do that.” 

He concluded in the heartbreaking sit-down, “You are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you.”
