MS NOW Names Ali Velshi As Its Chief Data Reporter

Ali Velshi has been named chief data reporter for MS NOW, offering analysis and the latest polling and results on election night and other events.

Velshi, who hosts his own show on the network, was at the Big Board during MS NOW’s election coverage last November. Steve Kornacki had that role when the network was MSNBC, but went with NBC News as Comcast spun off its cable channels into Versant.

MS NOW President Rebecca Kutler said that one of Velshi’s “many gifts is his unique ability to take complex data and make it digestible.”

Velshi joined MSNBC in 2016 and, in addition to covering elections, he has reported from Ukraine and across Central and Eastern Europe during the Russian invasion. He also has reported on the Syrian refugee crisis from Turkey and Jordan and the Iran Nuclear Deal in Tehran. He also is featured on the “Velshi Across America” segments, with interviews with voters and elected officials in battleground states.

Vekshi also hosts the “Velshi Banned Book Club” podcast and the weekly YouTube Live series, It’s Happening with Velshi & Ruhle along with Stephanie Ruhle.
