‘Neighbors’ Trailer: First Look At HBO’s New Late-Night Series

We’re getting the first look at HBO’s new late-night original series Neighbors. The premium cabler released the first trailer Tuesday ahead of its February 13 premiere. The six-episode half-hour show will air at 9 pm on HBO and will stream on HBO Max. Episodes will be released weekly.

“When you buy a house, you’re buying the neighbors,” which may not always work out very well, as the trailer reveals.

Per the logline, the “explosive series explores the chaotic and complicated disputes of neighbors… and the extreme lengths they’ll go to defend what’s theirs.”

Created by Harrison Fishman (The Big Parade), and Robert Redford’s grandson Dylan Redford, who exec produce and direct, the series comes from A24 and Central Pictures, the production company founded by Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie.

Fishman and Redford filmed for over two years, “traveling across the country and fully immersing themselves in these neighbors’ lives to capture an unfiltered and intimate portrait of everyday people and document the fundamentally American pursuits of life, liberty, and property,” according to HBO.  

Each episode introduces a new set of neighbors in the heat of their grievances, uncovering spirited disputes about property lines, animal ownership, and even a yellow Speedo. 

Safdie exec produces alongside Eli Bush, Ronnie Bronstein, and JP Lopez Ali for Central Pictures and Jonathan Hausfater and Chris Bowyer for A24.
