The Boise State Broncos (8-4) host the UNLV Rebels (10-2) on Friday night as the teams square off for the Mountain West Conference championship for the third consecutive season after the teams emerged from a four-way tie atop the conference at 6-2.

Boise State won its final two games to claim a share of the regular-season title, including a 25-24 victory at Utah State. Dylan Riley’s six-yard touchdown run with 2:26 remaining gave the Broncos the lead before the defense came up with a stop as time expired to seal the win. Riley finished with 120 yards on 25 carries while Max Cutforth threw for 341 yards and two scores, one each to Matt Wagner and Quinton Brown. Utah State completed a deep pass to get into Boise State territory on the final play, but couldn’t get out of bounds in time to get off another play. 

UNLV had no such trouble on Saturday night, rolling to a 42-17 rivalry win at Nevada. Jai’Den Thomas rolled for 103 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries, while Anthony Colandrea threw for one score and ran for another in the rout. Troy Omeire caught the touchdown pass while the defense came up with three sacks and forced two turnovers.

The Broncos and Rebels ended the conference season tied with New Mexico and San Diego State, with computer rankings breaking the tie and advancing Boise State and UNLV to the title game. The Broncos earned the right to host on the strength of their 56-31 victory at home on Oct. 18, their 10th straight win over the Rebels to take a 12-3 lead in the all-time series.
