Fallout Season 2 – release date, episode list, how to watch

The first “Fallout,” which premiered April 10, 2024, ranks as the streamer’s second-biggest show ever, with 100 million viewers (it’s second only to “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which drew a reported 170 million).

“Fallout” is the live-action adaptation of best-selling post-apocalyptic video game series, “Fallout.” Set two-hundred years after the nuclear war of 2077, it follows a survivor called Lucy (Ella Purnell) who emerges from a luxury fallout shelters into an irradiated hellscape. Here, she meets The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and Maximus (Aaron Moten).

What is the Story in Fallout Season 2?

“Fallout Season 2” picks up immediately after the explosive finale, with Lucy and The Ghoul pursuing her father, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), through the Mojave Wasteland to the thriving enclave of New Vegas.

“At times, it’s like [they] are on this buddy road trip,” Purnell tells Empire. “And then other times, they’re so much at arms. They’re trying to influence each other and see who’s going to rub off on whom.”

“Is the Ghoul going to become good? Is Lucy going to become bad? Or are they going to be somewhere in the middle?” Purnell teases.

Is Fallout Season 2 Set in New Vegas?

Yes, “Fallout Season 2” is set in New Vegas. Not only does it feature iconic locations from the hit 2010 game “Fallout: New Vegas,” including the New Vegas Strip and the Lucky 38 resort, but also the game’s primary antagonist, Mr House. Justin Theroux plays the enigmatic New Vegas boss, who knew The Ghoul back when he was actor Cooper Howard. 

“We have a couple of really incredible scenes that are just these big, heavyweight bouts of intellect,” Theroux says. “It was like doing “Waiting For Godot” in the middle of the whole thing.”
