NFL announces another punishment for Giants running back Cam Skattebo

Earlier this week New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was hit with a $15,000 fine from the NFL for conduct detrimental to the league after he entered the team’s medical tent to check on Jaxson Dart.

The rookie quarterback grabbed his head after being sacked by Patrick Johnson and falling into Eagles linebacker Azeez Ojulari and eventually left the game to be checked for a concussion.

“I knew going over there I needed to calm down a little bit because I knew he was going to be on fire,” Skattebo said at the time. “When I was in there, he was a little fired up, but we know we have to go through protocol and do all that stuff to make sure we can get back on the field. I went in there and kind of, ‘We’re good, man, we’ve got you,’ and that’s it.”

After receiving the fine, Skattebo didn’t have much to say.

“I don’t really have any comments on it. Just glad Jaxson’s healthy. That’s it,” Skattebo said. “Like I said, no comment. They took action, and it’s over with.”

The rookie running back’s wallet took another hit just a few days later when the NFL announced a $6,157 fine for Skattebo for unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing) in the team’s 33-32 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Skattebo signed a four-year, $5.27 million deal with the Giants ahead of the 2025 NFL season and has already become a fan favorite – which means endorsements are sure to follow. However, he was forced to part with over $21,000 in just a few short days.
