Canadian Comedy On YouTube: ShozerTV Launched With Stand-Up Specials & Lionsgate Titles

Canadian comedy and talent will take center stage on shozerTV, a YouTube channel from Letterkenny producer New Metric Media. The channel is now live and has picked up several titles from Lionsgate including Running Wilde starring Will Arnett, Van Wilder: Party Liaison starring Ryan Reynolds and Zack and Miri Make A Porno, starring Seth Rogen.

For New Metric, this marks a return to its roots, with Letterkenny first getting traction on YouTube as LetterkennyProblems.

There will also be original video podcasts on the channel including an upcoming show from Bria Mack Gets A Life creator Sasha Leigh Henry and producer Tania Thompson. Content from podcast studio Kelly&Kelly will also feature after New Metric acquired the company, per Deadline’s recent scoop.

“Comedy is one of Canada’s greatest exports and we are excited to give it a centralized home for the world to enjoy on shozerTV,” said New Metric CEO & Founder, Mark Montefiore.

The newbie channel has also licensed stand-up comedy specials with comics including Sandra Battaglini, Jeewan Gill, Ali Hassan, Hisham Kelati, Dave Merheje and Mike Rita. New Metric’s previously announced The Eh-List stand-up specials are currently in production and will also feature on shozerTV, as will sketch show Picnicface from Shadowpine Studios. New Metric series, including What Would Sal Do? and Bria Mack Gets A Life are also on the channel.

Having acquired specials, as well as a package of shows from Lionsgate, New Metric said it will be buying more third-party shows for shozerTV.
