Report: 49ers Get Huge Brock Purdy Injury Update

[ad_1]

The San Francisco 49ers have already been hit hard with injuries to begin the 2025 NFL season. Brock Purdy and George Kittle have both missed time early this year and now Nick Bosa is done for the season due to a torn ACL.

Despite the injury issues, the 49ers have scraped together a 3-0 record to kick off the year.

Kyle Shanahan and company badly need some good news on the injury front. His team is struggling to stay afloat. Thankfully, some good news has come out.

Ahead of Week 4 action against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home, a report has come out that gives hope regarding Purdy.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Purdy has a good chance to play against the Jaguars. Getting him back on the field would be a huge step in the right direction for San Francisco.

During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Schefter revealed his belief that Purdy could play this week.

“Mac Jones played very well yesterday and led the 49ers to victory,” Schefter said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Brock Purdy is back this week.”

Purdy getting back on the field would be a huge boost for a team that badly needs it. The 49ers have struggled with major injury issues for the past two seasons. They are clearly a competitive football team this year, but they will only be able to go as far as injuries allow them to go.

In Week 1, Purdy put together a decent performance. He completed 26 of his 35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The turnovers weren’t great, but he was solid overall.

Since Purdy went down with injury, Mac Jones has started two games for San Francisco. He played extremely well during those outings, throwing for 563 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, while completing 66.3 percent of his pass attempts.

Hopefully, the 49ers are able to get Purdy back on the field this week. Thankfully, even if he isn’t able to play, they have a legitimate backup in Jones who is more than capable of stepping in and playing at a high level.

Expect to hear more news about Purdy in the near future, but for now it sounds like Schefter thinks he’s trending towards being available this week.
