AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 2025 Texas high school football season is here, with a handful of Central Texas teams hitting the gridiron to get it going Thursday.

Anderson claimed its fourth consecutive win over McCallum, winning the newly-named Shoal Creek Showdown 37-2 behind three rushing touchdowns from Caleb Crenshaw.

Weiss pounded McNeil 56-28, and Vista Ridge picked up a 30-14 win over Killeen.

Pflugerville picked up a 21-14 win over Leander, and Stony Point rolled by East View 42-20. Del Valle opened the season in the win column 47-0 over Cedar Creek, and Marble Falls blanked Crockett 49-0. Buda Hays topped Elgin 43-13
